Smart boy
A commercial for Fox Sunday Baseball came on while we were watching our post-dinner Simpsons.
APL: Look, [Angry Boy], the Yankees are playing the Giants this weekend. Remember how last weekend we said, "Boo, Giants!" because they were playing the Red Sox?
AB: Yes.
APL: Well, when the Yankees play the Giants, which team do you think we root for?
AB: (ponders silently)
APL: Do you think we root for the Giants?
AB: Yes... Because we hate* a whole bunch of the Yankees except for one. He is very good and his name is Doug.**
* I swear I don't use this word around AB, not even when discussing the Yankees. We just say, "Boo, Yankees."
** We were watching the June 2 game together when poor Doug got concussed. We watched the replay over and over. Poor, poor Doug. Doug has a ring, you know. Which is why we like Doug.

I guess I'll have to wait a few years until he graduates to comparisons of the 4-4-2 and 3-5-2.
Remember when Doug wouldn't give back the ball? What about that?
Yeah, I had to explain to one of LG's friends that we were NOT happy about the concussion (happy about a concussion! sportsfandom is a cutthroat world!) because of Doug's previous team affiliation.
The Yankees are Satan's team pure and simple. But we still feel sorry for Doug.
Raise a child in the way that he should go, the Good Book says, and when he is old he will not stray from it. From a couple of years ago:
"Hooper! What does a duck say?"
"Wack!"
"What does a cat say?"
"Meow!"
"What does a Panther say?"
(Both hands in air) "Touchdown!"
He is HILARIOUS! I, too, root for whoever is playing against the Yankees, because the Yankees broke my heart.
